In the novel, although people were in a difficult environment, they still had a good mood to chat and joke with their friends happily, and I remembered quite clearly there was a short part talked about they cooked snakes meat for supper, which made me feel so authentic and funny.

I can't deny that all those things sound very ordinary in our daily life, but during the war, they became much more valuable.

I always think the friendship in the fiction is much better than that in our real world, maybe the reason is that they are lifelong friends.

I have never read a war novel before, I hadn't thought that the protagonist would die for reputation in the end, unexpectly, he died, I don't want to read his death, I become wondering whether the death is the only way to tell the sublimation of the soul ?
