如一段C类地址:192.168.6.0,其默认掩码为255.255.255.0,根据需要,我们可以将其进行子网划分。假设有两个网络,分别有100台主机,我们就可以将这一个C类地址划分为192.168.6.0/25和192.168.6.128/25两个子网,即掩码为255.255.255.128,其地址范围分别从192.168.6.0-127及192.168.6.128-255。(划分的方法是:由于只需要两个子网,从主机位借用一位二进制数即可,网络位由原来的24位变为25位。)当然从ISP的上一层设备路由表中仍然只会宣告一条192.168.6.0/24,只不过与用户直连的设备进行了子网划分,上层设备甚至还会与其他相邻网段进行汇总。

同理,我们如果有两段C类地址:192.168.6.0和192.168.7.0,其默认掩码均为24位,即255.255.255.0。如果将其分给一个网络,或者说进行路由汇总的时候,就可以将其表示为192.168.6.0/23,即掩码为255.255.254.0。其地址范围从192.168.6.0-192.168.7.255。(划分的方法是:由于合并两个网络,从网络位借用一位二进制数即可,网络位由原来的24位变为23位。)
