以工业锅炉为例;炉的结构多数是有汽包(锅壳)和设在炉膛外不受热位置的下降管,下降管的上部接在汽包下部的水空间,下降管下部是接在集箱上。炉膛内设有受热面管,受热面管上部接到汽包上部的汽空间,受热面管的下部也接到集箱上。
循环的原理是工作时受热面管内的水在炉膛内接受热量后,尤其是产生蒸汽后,平均比重减小,而不受热的下降管中的水比重不变,这样一来比重的差使下降管中的水压受热
面中的汽水混合物上升回到汽包的汽空间,汽包下部的水流入下降管来补充保持管内的水量不变,形成水的一个汽包-----下降管------集箱------受热面管--------汽包的循环过程,这个循环不靠外力,而是靠受了热的水与水或水,水蒸汽的混合物的比重不同而进行循环,原理就是这样。
强制循环锅炉的结构与自然循环基本相同,只是在下降管上安装上水泵,水泵把下降管中的水强行抽出来送到受热面里去,用水泵来强制其进行循环,其循环是水在外力的作用下强迫循环。
