other 就是表其他人或物，可是不一定表单数吧...other people，other things
the other，常在on the one hand/aspect.... on the other hand/aspect....多为表示两者中的一个（多用在one的后面）
another就是表另一个，通常后接单数
others，相当于other+宾语，也表其他的，如果前面说的是人，例如some students are playing basketball， others are swimming。这里的others就是other students
