As is vividly shown in the picture, a tired student is sleeping on an encyclopedia, with different kinds of books all round. Hanging on the wall are some papers with learning materials on them, such as English vocabulary, maths problems and so on. Obviously, the student works very hard. But is he happy?
How poor the child is! His life is supposed to be colorful and meaningful. Studying should be only part of his life. He needn’t work round the clock, which is not good for his growth and development. Just as the old saying goes, all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. He deserves a happy childhood as other kids.
Nowadays, in China this is a common phenomenon, which is deeply rooted in the education system. What we need to do is make some immediate changes. The society, schools and families shouldn’t put too much pressure on children and should give them enough time to take part in social activities. Only in this way can children be set free and live a happy life.
